Jesus is my life; Wife, Mum, daughter, sister, friend; Master of Ministry student, Ridley College, Melbourne; BA, SCU; Published Author; I am truly blessed 💗🙏💗 Arana Hills Church of Christ is my Church
Good morning all,
It's a beautiful day in Brisbane, clear blue skies and crisp, cool weather. I love winter. It's week 3 of semester 2, and I'm now studying a Master of Ministry at Ridley College, with many years to go and I love every part if it. This semester I'm doing a unit called Early New Testament Church, covering most of the NT with half the time on the book of Acts. It is extremely interesting learning about the nature of God and His actions to redeem His people. This is my fourth semester of study now.
I'm also doing a unit at Southern Cross University on Creative Non-Fiction where I will be writing a memoir. I hope it will help me in my quest to write academically.
I hope you have a truly blessed day.
Many blessings,
Karen 💗
16th August 2020 and it's week five of my university course - Graduate Diploma of Divinity at Ridley College, Melbourne.
There is a lot to learn about the Bible, I love it and pray I can give God glory through my studies.
Thank You Jesus.
Welcome all who have enquiring minds: wisdom comes from knowledge, which leads to understanding, empathy and compassion.

Hello to May 2020, where warm and cuddly jumpers and long pants keep the chill out. Finally, it’s cold - a southern icy blast has lit up the east coast with subzero temperatures in places, and we feel cold with single and double digit nights. As I write this it’s still cold out of sun at 22 degrees. What a wonderful day to be alive, even in isolation and social distancing. May has continued the suffering and death from Covid-19 and it’s effect is world wide. The only continent free of the virus is Antarctica. Keep safe everyone and look after your neighbours. We need to stick together as a community to fight the loneliness and isolation of our fellow citizens. Love casts out all fear. 💗
Well that stopped any good plans for 2020. Everything just got thrown out the window and we are living in a twilight zone. Mass panic shopping, toilet paper running off the shelves and many products disappearing. Prices of broccoli up to $15 a kilo, no mince anywhere, shops running out stock and being overrun with the greed of some and the rudeness of others, older people getting distressed over the lack of essential and the new hope of acts of kindness. Thousands of business shut their doors, millions stood down or sacked, line of newly unemployed stretching for city blocks outside Centrelink offices and government websites crashing. Churches innovate and move to online forums, social networking on Zoom, sermons on YouTube, AGMs on Zoom with 80 participants; how insane is that, and it worked out. Who would have thought physical distancing would lead to more social and fellowship connectedness.
My beautiful Mother, Edna June Doneley, went to her eternal home on Sunday 29th March 2020 after a short illness. She was 93 years young. We love you Mum, Nanna and Great-Nanna. The world has lost a beautiful soul, but heaven has gained a beloved daughter of the most high living God. Enjoy your reward Mum and we will see you when our days are over. Won't that be a party in heaven when we are all together again. I love you Mum. 💗💗💗
I am proud to announce the publication of my story, 'Edna Convalesces' in Coastline 7; a production by students of Southern Cross University. i also worked as a copywriter on the anthology. My Mum finally has her name in print; love tou Mum. 💗💗💗
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.”
My husband and I had a wonderful time visiting our daughter, Danielle, in Thailand. We met so many of her Thai friends, visited her church, went on a train trip and went on a long road trip. Chiang Mai is a beautiful place full of really interesting places and lovely people. The people in Thailand are generous, friendly and caring, and we were so blessed on our first ever holiday; my first out of Australia. We also had a short visit to Chiang Rai where we met Daniel, Danielle's boyfriend who is studying to be a Pastor. We saw a tea plantation, had wonderful food and fell in love with Thailand. I can't wait to go again. Danielle will graduate in two years, so that might be a great time to go back.
or maybe earlier 🥰

Thank you to my publisher for allowing me to share my words with the world. 💗💗💗
2019, a year to share stories, experiences and love.
Be the kind friend, be the shoulder of strength to someone hurting, share with an elder - you will grow and become humble, talk to a child and change your perspective on life, become awestruck at the magnificence of God’s creation, and pray everyday.

I am almost, but not quite, finished Semester 2 and it has been an interesting ride. I have five assessments due within the next two weeks, but I’m not stressing too much. On a plus side, after I finish this Semester, I will only have three units left to finish to graduate. YAY! I’m almost there.
I will have two stories published in book form later this year. The Mahogany Box will be published by the Fictional Cafe in their inaugural anthology and Edna Convalesces is still being finalised for the publication, Coastlines 7. I have a story in a competition that has passed the first round 800, which is very pleasing.
Iam progressing well in my Bible studies with Joy and am now a ‘Kid’s Ministry’ leader for Arana Hills Church of Christ. I look after the toddlers who are so sweet and bubbly. Hopefully their attention span will improve as they get older, but so far so good.
God is so good. I am full of so much joy even when life is a struggle. My body may be weak but my heart is strong. Thank You Jesus! I encourage everyone to read the Bible. There is so much to learn within the Word, and lots of encouragement for those who need it. I have tried to read as much as I can while I have been studying and it has been a challenge, but reading His wonderful Word is so inspiring and helps me find peace again in a troubled world. It calms my soul. It helps me to find love in everyone, and I love serving at church and everyday. Just sitting next to someone in the shops and starting a conversation is a wonderful thing.
Spread the joy.

I am a mature-aged student, wife and mother of three adult daughters. I am a Christian: a child of God and a radiant woman. I am in my second year of university, studying Bachelor of Arts (Double Major of Writing & Cultural Studies) at Southern Cross University in Lismore.
I published my first short story in 2017 – The Mahogany Box, at the Fictional Cafe, an online journal.
My second and third stories - Like Heaven & Twenty-Three Floors - were published on 22 & 23 May 2018 respectively.
My fourth story - Edna Convalesces - will be published later this year in an anthology of stories in Coastlines 7, edited and published by students at Southern Cross University. I worked as a copyeditor on the publication. It was a wonderful experience.
I am an avid reader and love to write. It is my hope to pursue a writing career, concentrating on uplifting and empowering stories - there are enough negative stories in the world.
God Bless

I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. I love engaging with the projects I work on, diving headfirst into the research, investigation, and production of stories I feel are worth writing about. I am a curious and proactive Author, interested in preserving the foundations set by classical literature by adapting them to modern themes and trends. As a Christian, I endeavour to create uplifting and empowering prose to instil joy in mankind. I thank Jesus for the gifts He has given me. Amen.
I'm so happy with my fourth story being published today. This is a Young Adult (YA) story. Thank you to White Light Publishing.
